"Love Yourself"

Artist Statement:

"Love Yourself" is both an autobiographical movement towards change and an invitation to all women to celebrate the whole self. There is a message written on her skin... a call to examine our own internal dialogue. My work in portraiture is an ongoing and layered conversation on representation. I create the portraits of women I want to see in art. I create portraits of the women I didn't see often enough as I studied and grew up as an artist. This piece is a culmination of these layers… a look at the strength of a woman. She is confident in self-love and she is seen.
